Phillip & Josius
Phillip is a 50-year-old man who lives in rural western Uganda. He, his wife and his eight children spend their time farming to meet their many family needs and improve their standard of living.

Phillip is borrowing with his son Josius so that he can buy a piece of land for him on which he will start cultivating his own coffee to earn a living and support his own young family. He has a wife and a son, and the father feels it's time for him to become independent, yet the family land is too small to support all the eight children in addition to his son's family.

Phillip is a hardworking man, though constrained because of the large family. In the photo is Phillip and his son Josius who are borrowing jointly; they will pay the loan together.
