Mwakame is 32 years old and lives in the rural area of Msambweni. She is married with five children. Mwakame has a retail shop that buys and sells canned goods, snacks, personal care products, home use products and beverages. She has had this business for seven months.
Mwakame has requested a loan of 20,000 Kenyan shillings to buy stock of foodstuffs, detergents and soft drinks. In the future, she hopes to improve her business so she can support her children's education.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
