Pablita is 59 years old and lives in Punta, Panaon, Misamis Occidental. She is separated with five children.
Pablita has a store that sells groceries and other consumable products. She also operates a side car for hire and raises hogs. She has had this business for six years.
Pablita requested a loan to be pay the processing fees for her daughter’s passport and other working papers. She will use the remaining amount to purchase additional groceries for sale.
Pablita has been a member of PMPC for almost seven years. In the future, Pablita hopes to expand her business.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
