The couple have five children, all in school and in the care of their parents. Edwige and her husband live together with their children and provide for the household together. For close to ten years, Edwige has sold poultry and palm nuts at a market in Benin. She runs this business with passion, which has allowed her to provide for her needs and those of her children. Edwige gets her supplies at a market in Benin. With the goal of satisfying her clientele, Edwige is seeking a third loan with ALIDÉ, together with the other members of the Gbenonkpo group. This loan will serve to better respond to the needs of their customers and generate higher profits. All the previous loans were repaid properly.
GBENONKPO est un groupe de six personnes, dont les membres résident dans le même quartier. La représentante du groupe, Edwige, âgée de 47 ans, est mariée à Césaire, un menuisier. Edwige a un peu fréquenté. Le couple a cinq enfants tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Edwige et son mari vivent ensemble avec leurs enfants et assurent ensemble les différentes charges de la maison. Il y a près de dix neuf ans que Edwige vend des volailles et des noix de palme dans un marché du Bénin. Edwige exerce cette activité passionnément, ce qui lui permet de subvenir à ses besoins et à ceux de ses enfants. Edwige s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle, Edwige sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe GBENONKPO, un troisième crédit auprès de ALIDé. Ce crédit leur servira à mieux répondre aux demandes de leur clientèle et à se faire plus de profits. Les crédits antérieurement reçus ont été bien remboursés.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
