Trinidad is a 60-year-old married woman. She lives in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur in the Philippines with her three children. She has been running a general store at home for 4 years, which gives her a monthly income of PHP 10,000. Sustaining her business is important, so she has applied for a loan of PHP 50,000 from GDMPC to purchase new items such as candies, milo, shampoo, soaps etc. She joined GDMPC in 2011. Trinidad hopes for more sales and plans to expand her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
