Devorah is the coordinator of the group Nuevo Amanecer (New Dawn) 1, 2 & 3, located in the city of Samana, in one of the rural areas surrounded by the water of the Atlantic ocean. Many of the members are selling goods like bread, clothing, shoes or cosmetics. Others sell seafood, run fried food stalls and other businesses.

Devorah lives together with her family, she is still single and has no children. She is starting a nail center with this loan. This is her first loan with us and she will invest it all in supplies for her new nail center. Devorah will buy acrylic nails, accessories, and new gadgets. She said that her most difficult challenge was to get capital to start her business and thanks to the Lord, her neighbors, and Esperanza, this can be possible.

She is hoping to make her dreams come true: to have a prosperous life and a good business. She thanks all of you for your support!

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
