Seventeen years ago, Enrique began his career as a truck driver. He decided to go into business for himself when he lost his job earlier this year.

He started a towing business with his own truck, but he still needed start-up funds for working capital, liability and cargo insurance, and licensing.

After a friend and client of Accion Texas Inc. told him about his own positive experience, Enrique applied for a loan and was approved.

Now he owns Rocky Mountain Towing, a small business that transports cars for mechanics from streets to body shops, and from shops to auto dealerships. Enrique works on-call and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in his hometown of El Paso, Texas.

He currently works alone, but plans to hire a crew as soon as he can afford to purchase multiple trucks. Without the help of an Accion loan, Enrique says, “I wouldn’t be able to begin my business.”
