Chheyvet, age 31, lives in a rural area in the Ponhea Krek District of Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. She has one daughter who is still in school. To support the family, she and her husband have been raising pigs and selling grocery items. They have been in business for ten years.
Chheyvet has been with VisionFund for one cycle. She absolutely repaid the past loan, which has helped relieve her family’s burden and improved their livelihood.
Now she is asking for another loan of US $1,020 from VisionFund. She wants to use this loan to buy pig feed for her pig business and use a portion of it to spend on buying more grocery items. She hopes to fatten her pigs so as to improve her standard of living and keep her daughter in school.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
