Mary
Mary is a 43 year old widow with six children. She is a farmer specializing in coffee growing. Mary has over four acres of coffee, and has earned a lot from this project. She has managed to send three of her children to university and three to good a secondary school. She has been able to construct a commercial house in the trading centre for generation of more income to support her family.

She wants a loan of 1,000,000 Uganda shillings to buy fertilizers, pesticides and manure for her garden. This will enable her to realize large yields and revenue from the sales of her coffee, and to be in position to support her family and provide them with the basic necessities. Her dream is to see all six of her children graduate from universities and get good jobs.

The major challenges she faces are lack of manure and fertilizers to put in her coffee garden, and pests and diseases which attack her coffee. Mary promises to repay her loan, such that she will be able to get a bigger loan in future.
