Edwin lives in Gata Daku, Clarin. He earns an income through providing transportation services. He has done this for 5 years to support the needs of his 2 children. He gets an income of 5,000 PHP a month for this business. For a 42-year old father, there’s nothing that can make him happier then when he sees his children succeed in their studies. Without hesitation, Edwin requests to borrow an amount of 9,500 PHP from GDMPC to repair his transport vehicle and provide his children a better education. He joined GDMPC in 2011. His plan in the future is to hopefully improve his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
