Louie, aged 25, is a single entrepreneur from Tugas, Tangub City. He earns an income from his motorcycle transport business which he started almost two years ago and from which he earns 6,000 PHP a month.
To improve his business, Louie is borrowing 15,000 PHP from GDMPC micro-credit which he joined recently. He will use the loan to buy motorcycle accessories and tires. Before long, he’s hopeful of the possibility of expanding his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
