Editha is 39 years old and is from Bocator, Tangub City. She is married and blessed with two children.
Editha is working as a chief baker to help the family to earn a living. She has been in this business for three years and earns about 15,000 Php (Philippines pesos) per month.
In 2011, Editha joined GDMPC. She requested a loan in the amount of Php 25,000 to purchase new baking equipment and tools to expand the business. Editha plans that the income generated from her loan will be invested back into the business and ultimately hopes to expand the size of the business. Additionally, Editha hopes that continued success in her business will allow her to care for her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
