The borrower group "LA UNION" [The Union] is made up of two members. Osmar and Rigoberte formed a group together in order to mutually help one another and to benefit from the loans in their different economic activities. They are responsible, hard-working, and well-mannered people.

Osmar is the coordinator of this borrower group and undertakes the liability of the party in terms of payments. He sells bread by walking door to door and also from his own home; he has been doing this for twenty years.

He has already worked with the Fundación león 2000; it has helped him to grow his business. The financing he needs is to invest in working capital and to fill his baskets with sweet bread, regular bread, sliced bread, and spiced bread in order to offer the best services to his customers.

The members of the borrower group LA UNION are thankful for the help that the Kiva investors offer to people with scarce resources in poor countries, like Nicaragua, in order to have decent work.

G.S. LA UNION esta conformado por dos integrantes Osmar Y Rigoberto los cuales se unieron para ayudarse mutuamente y ser beneficiado por el prestamos en sus diferentes actividades económicas. Ellos son personas responsables, trabajadoras, de buenas costumbres. Osmar es el coordinador de grupo solidario el cual se encarga de las responsabilidad del mismo en cuanto a los pagos, él tiene por actividad económica la venta de pan de forma ambulante y en su casa de habitación desde hace 20 anos. Él ya ha trabajado con fundación león 2000 lo cual le ha ayudado a crecer en su negocio. El financiamiento lo necesita para invertir en capital de trabajo y surtir sus canastos de pan dulce, pan simple,pan cortado, pan de especies, para ofrecer mejor servicios a sus clientes. Los integrantes del grupo solidario LA UNION agradece la ayuda que los inversionistas kiva les brindan a personas de escasos recursos y países pobre como es Nicaragua para tener fuentes de trabajo digno.

Fundación Leon 2000

This loan is administered by Fundación Leon 2000. Fundación Leon 2000 began operations in 1993 as the first microfinance institution to serve the western part of Nicaragua, a country which continues to be one of the poorest in the western hemisphere. Fundación Leon 2000 works to further the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises through credit services and management, applying the best credit industry practices and technical expertise. Additionally, Fundación Leon manages several business and financial education programs in the community, specifically for young entrepreneurs and at-risk youth. Fundación Leon 2000’s group of experienced and dedicated employees works in 7 offices in Leon, Chinandega, Chichigalpa, Somotillo, Jinotepe, El Sauce, and Nagarote and serves several thousand clients (the majority of whom are women).
