Maura
View original language description ↓
Maura is married and lives with her husband and her four children (ages 22, 18, 12 and 7) in the house they own. Her three youngest children are studying in business schools and her oldest daughter is studying in Spain. Maura has a food sales counter in El Carmen market and her husband operates a motor taxi throughout the area. Each has 5 years of experience doing this work. Although there is competition in food sales, Maura owes her success to her experience in the sector and more importantly the location of her business opposite the bus stop. She also sells food in the market and to retirees. A full lunch costs 8 Bolivares (just over $1) and extra or special dishes cost 15-20 Bolivares (approximately $2-$3). She will use the requested loan to purchase ingredients for her business, which she can get at wholesale prices in the Villa Verde market. Maura and her husband have an excellent credit history.
