Nyumah S., age 47, operates a rice store in his community. He has been engaged in this venture for the past seven years. He and his wife have three children, ages 11, 15, and 17, and the family lives in West Point, Liberia. All three children are enrolled in school and live at home.
Nyumah has lot of customers and makes a good profit. The business flourishes partly because he is the only one in his community who sells good rice by the bag, especially during the rainy season. He utilizes half his profits on house rent and school fees.
He is requesting a loan in order to purchase more bagged rice for his business. He plans to expand his business and is determined to send his children to quality schools.
