Hamisi is a 40-year-old resident of Msambweni. He is married and a father of five children: two daughters and three sons. His wife takes care of the home. For the last 15 years, Hamisi has been fishing in the Indian ocean. He later sells his fish at the market. He says that he has achieved good results. He is taking out this loan to purchase fishing nets. He hopes to have more income and continue to provide for his family.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
