Leonisa is a 59-year-old married mom of five children. She lives in Lapasan, Clarin.
She has been sewing for 12 years and continues to do so today. Every month she receives PHP 8,000, which is fair enough to cover day-to-day expenses. Leonisa joined Gata Daku MPC in 2008.
She is applying for a loan of PHP 11,000 to buy another set of sewing machine. By all this means, Leonisa hopes to create as much output as she can to have more income.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
