Mwanamvua is married to Hassan who is a businessman. She is a 36-year-old woman and the mother of five. She lives with her family in the rural area of Msambweni, in the coastal region of Kenya. For the past five years, Mwanamvua has been running a milk-selling business. In addition to this business, she also sells fish during the afternoon hours. Her goal is move forward in life but the main challenge is the high prices of commodities and lack of enough capital to invest in her business. However, she is optimistic and she is sure that this investment from the loan she is currently asking for will help her grow her businesses. She plans to buy more milk to sell.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
