Mwanasha is well known in her neighborhood for her jovial character. She is liked by many, since she not only has kindness but also due to her positive advices. She lives in the town of Msambweni, which is well known for the activities of fish selling, coconut selling, and food vending. In the outskirts of this town, Mwanasha lives with her family (her spouse and six children) in a house that they own. She earns a living selling fish at the market – a business that is over ten years old.
In the past few weeks, demand for fish has risen and she wants to take advantage by buying more stock of fish. This is why she is taking out this loan to make this investment.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
