Gulnara
Gulnara is from Tkibuli district of West Georgia. She is 55 years old and lives with her husband, son and two grandchildren. Gulnara’s husband is provided with a retirement pension. The family is involved in an agricultural business. In particular, they run a small dairy farm with a calf and 3 milk cows, whose milk is used in cheese products. The cheese is sold at the local open market. In addition, Gulnara has a nut garden and a small plot of land, where different kinds of vegetables are grown. The harvested nuts are sold locally and the vegetables are used for family needs. Gulnara works hard to do her best for her family.

Gulnara wants to make some improvements and repairs to her old house, but the amount of money she has isn't enough, so she is requesting a loan to cover the costs of repairing the house such as changing windows, painting, etc. Taking this loan will create for Gulnara and her family suitable home conditions and enable them to enjoy living in their house.

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
