In order to contribute to the needs of her family, Julienne Rufine has been selling various products in a market in Benin for 20 years. She buys her supplies in a market in Benin. This business allows her to meet her needs without great difficulty.

With the goal of the satisfaction of her clients, and in order to grow her sales volume and revenue, Julienne Rufine is asking for a third loan with ALIDé along with the other members of the AKPEDJI group. Their previous loans have been repaid in full.

Le groupe AKPEDJI est composé de trois personnes qui sont des amies. C'est la troisième fois que ce groupe sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de son activité. La représentante du groupe, du nom de Julienne Rufine est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Julienne Rufine est âgée de 51 ans et est une veuve. Julienne Rufine a quatre enfants, tous scolarisés. Julienne Rufine a peu fréquenté l’école. Julienne Rufine vit seule avec ses enfants et supporte seule les diverses charges. Pour contribuer aux différents besoins de sa famille, Julienne Rufine vend depuis vingt ans, divers produits dans un marché du Bénin. Julienne Rufine s'approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Cette activité lui permet de répondre sans grande difficulté à ses charges. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Julienne Rufine sollicite un troisième crédit auprès de ALIDé, ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe AKPEDJI. Les prêts antérieurs ont été bien remboursés.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients. This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
