The group NONVIGNON C2 is comprised of two friends. This is the first time that the group is asking for financial support form ALIDé in order to grow their business.

Gisèle Sènami (with her hand raised in the photo) is the group representative. Gisèle Sènami is 41 years old and is married to a photographer named Charles. The couple has four dependent children, some of whom go to school. Gisèle Sènami did not go to school. Gisèle Sènami lives with her husband and children. Together, the couple takes care of their household needs.

In order to contribute to the various needs of the family, Gisèle Sènami has been selling cosmetics and clothes out of her home and through the distribution system for 18 years.

This business allows her to meet her needs without great difficulty. Gisèle Sènami buys her supplies in a market in Benin.

In the hope of satisfying her clients and in order to grow her sales volume and revenue, Gisèle Sènami and the other NONVIGNON C2 group member are asking for a first loan with ALIDé.

Le groupe NONVIGNON C2 est composé de deux personnes qui sont des amies. C'est la première fois que ce groupe sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de son activité. La représentante du groupe, du nom de Gisèle Sènami est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Gisèle Sènami est âgée de 41 ans et est mariée à un photographe du nom de Charles. Le couple a quatre enfants, dont certains scolarisés et tous à leur charge. Gisèle Sènami n’a pas fréquenté l’école. Gisèle Sènami vit ensemble avec son mari et ses enfants. Le couple assure ensemble les divers besoins du ménage. Pour contribuer aux différents besoins de sa famille, Gisèle Sènami vend depuis dix huit ans des produits cosmétiques et des vêtements à son domicile et par le système de distribution. Cette activité lui permet de répondre sans grande difficulté à ses besoins. Gisèle Sènami s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Gisèle Sènami sollicite un premier crédit auprès de ALIDé, ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe NONVIGNON C2.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients. This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
