Jane, age 38 years, is a single woman with five children, ages 1 to 14 years; 3 of which are in school. Jane owns a retail shop in the town of Kagadi, Uganda that she started from savings from a video hall she owns. She describes herself as hardworking and has a dream to have a wholesale shop in the future and to educate all her children to university level. Jane wants a loan to buy sugar, soap and general merchandise for her shop.

This loan is part of HOFOKAM's program targeting poor and geographically excluded populations in Western Uganda. In addition to loans, it provides social and business training programs to low-income entrepreneurs and their communities.
