Liutasi is 51 years old, married, and has nine children. She would like to start a sewing business. In order to do so, Liutasi is requesting a loan to buy a new sewing machine, materials, needles, and scissors. She hopes to use her profits to improve her business and provide a better future for her children. She has been a member of SPBD since 2012.
South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) improves conditions for families living in poverty by providing accessible credit, training, and guidance to help them start, grow and maintain micro-businesses, build assets, finance home improvements, and afford to educate their children. 99% of SPBD’s loans go to women, who can borrow in groups to guarantee one another rather than put up collateral.
