A loan of $350 helped to purchase compost, fertilizer, etc.

Panfilo's story

Pánfilo comes from the rural district of San Jerónimo, Teustepe, in the town of Boaco. He's married and has eight children aged 14, 17, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30 and 32 years. He's a farmer by trade. He grows corn and beans and has 35 years' worth of experience. He first started working with his father when he was very young. They used to grow the crops only for the family's consumption, but nowadays there are great opportunities in harvesting basic grains for selling. That way he can increase the earnings he gets from his crops and obtain better profits for his household's finances. He sows basic grains alongside his children and this has been his only business.
He would like to sell his produce in the same district where he lives so that he could avoid the added expenses. His expectation is to have his business grow in order to improve his earnings and meet his customers' needs. Pánfilo requests the loan to purchase compost, fertilizer, etc., so he can maintain his crop and be able to offer his customers high quality produce. His plan for the future is to buy land in order to expand his crop.
