This is the “Mujeres Triunfadoras” (Victorious Women) group. It has nine, hardworking members who have been improving their businesses over time. This is Elizabeth’s case; she’s one of the members and is a single mother with one, 24-year-old son. She’s been selling sheets, blankets and bedspreads for over a year based on prior order. With the work she did and the good use she put her income to she was able to buy a mototaxi that she leases out to provide transportation services generating extra household income. Her greatest wish is to open a store because she’d be sure to earn higher profits that way. She will use her latest loan to buy sheets, blankets and bedspreads. She feels happy and grateful to the people who make this loan possible. Elizabeth is in the rear, third from the left and wearing a red jacket.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
