This is Ahmad, a 32-year-old Lebanese married man. He lives with his wife and their one child. He had many years of experience as a barber until he decided to open his own shop in 2003. He intended to open the shop in his town as he knows its entire population and most of them are really close to him. Ahmad always seeks to please his clients and responds to their needs, whatever they are.
He also owns a van in which he transports people to their desired locations. Today, he’s asking for a loan from Kiva Partner Ameen s.a.l to renovate his shop’s interior decorations. He notes that this Kiva loan will better improve his work, allowing him attract added customers and thus increase his revenues by 20%. Ahmad is not ready to have a big family until he’s financially satisfied and able to cover all their needs. This is why he’s trying his best to develop his work and enlarge his business as soon as possible.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
