Amer is a 32-year-old engaged man from Lebanon. He lives with his parents and two siblings. One of them is working and the other attending school. His father is the main income source of the family. In order to help him, Amer opened a shop in 2006 where he serves hubble-bubble, a Lebanese traditional tobacco. He distributes to a wide range of clients in his village and its neighborhoods. Today, he is requesting a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase tobacco and hubble-bubble equipment. In the future, he plans to borrow another Kiva loan and make the needed savings for his wedding. He wishes to have his own family and children; this is why he’s working nonstop to better develop his business.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
