Madeleine is a 48-year-old married mother of seven children between the ages of 9 and 21, all of whom are in school. She is a vendor in a marketplace and has sold seasonal fresh produce (cassava, potatoes, etc.,) for the last 20 years. As her clientele grows, she is no longer able to satisfy their growing demand with her current stock. Therefore, this loan is important as it will allow her to increase her stock of merchandise (bags of cassava and potatoes.) The profits generated by this loan will be in part reinvested to grow the business, and the rest will help her support the needs of her family.
