Jocelyn is from Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur in the Philippines. She is 36 years old and is married with two children. To make a living, Jocelyn owns and operates a business venture, selling specialty food products in the local community. Jocelyn has engaged in her business for 3 years and earns 9,000 PHP a month. Jocelyn has requested a loan of 15,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase raw ingredients needed to make products to sale. In 2011, Jocelyn joined GDMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the loan to improve and expand her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
