Joan is 43 years old, married, and the mother of three adult children between 18 and 24 years old. Her husband is a secondary school teacher and he provides additional income for the family. For the past 10 years, Joan has been practicing mixed farming including keeping cows, pigs, and poultry. She earns a monthly income of 30,000 KES that she uses to support her family.
