Mahbuba
Mahbuba has approached MDO Arvand so that she can begin a construction project in her house. She and her husband have 2 sons. Her husband and sons work doing plastering and finishing. They renovate buildings, and whenever it is possible, they do repairs in their own house to save money, but most of the work is done by builders. Mahbuba wants to help one of her sons with his marriage plans next year, but there are not enough rooms in their house so the family has decided to build a couple more rooms for the newlyweds. Mahbuba will use the loan to buy construction materials. She is grateful for your financial assistance.

About MDO Arvand

MDO Arvand is one of the leading microfinance institutions in Tajikistan, offering small loans to entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. This makes an enormous difference in a country, which is not only the poorest in Central Asia, but also home to a population where two-thirds live below the poverty line. Today, Tajikistan's economy literally depends on remittances being sent from family members working abroad in Russia because there are so few local job opportunities.

But Arvand loans have been able to make a difference and change lives. Read about some of the incredible success stories they have seen here in this Kiva blog post: Bringing hope to Tajikistan with Arvand -- one success story at a time.
