Phang, aged 29, is an active man who is very responsible for his family. He is married to a farmer and has a young child. Phang spends most of his day time working in the construction field where he can make an income of 5.00 USD per day to support his family. Also, he helps his wife to manage their farm during the rainy season in addition to his own business. Phang wishes to help his child finish his education and get a degree someday.
Phang is requesting a KHR 1,500,000 loan which will be used to pay for the medical care of his wife who will give birth to a baby very soon. He hopes his loan will be approved so that he can secure his situation and help his wife going through her hard time. He appreciates the loan help and he promises to pay back his loan in full.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
