Amiran is 52 years old and lives in a small village located in the Khobi district with his wife, son, daughter-in-law and infant grandchild. The family earns a living by running an agricultural business. They have two horses and two milk cows, and use the milk to make cheese which they sell locally in an open market. Amiran also owns a plot of land where he grows nut-trees and has a separate 1.2 hectare plot where he sows maize. He sells this produce for a good price in their village. Each member of the family works hard to insure in a good harvest. Amiran is requesting a loan to buy building materials to renovate his shed. The existing structure is too small and doesn’t allow him to implement his plans for the future, which include buying additional livestock which he will house in this building after it is complete.
