Afia Gnonnougan has three children who are all in school and in her care. Afia Gnonnougan lives together with her husband and children. Together they are responsible for all the household expenses. She didn't finish much school. It has been almost 12 years since she begun selling firewood and notions from her home in order to pay for all the household expenses. Afia Gnonnougan buys her inventory in Benin. In an effort to satisfy her client's needs, she is requesting her fourth loan along with the other members of her group, DJRMAHUTON. The loan will help her better respond to her client's needs and increase profits. The previous loans were all properly reimbursed.

DJRMAHUTON est un groupe de trois personnes, dont les membres sont des amies s’approvisionnant au même endroit. La représentante du groupe, Afia Gnonnougan (dont la main est levée sur la photo), est âgée de 42 ans et est mariée à un certain Jean. Afia Gnonnougan est mère de trois enfants tous scolarisés et à la charge du couple. Afia Gnonnougan vit ensemble avec ses enfants et son mari. Le couple assure ensemble les diverses charges du ménage. Afia Gnonnougan a peu fréquenté l’école. Il y a près de douze ans que Afia Gnonnougan mène comme activité la vente des fagots de bois et des articles de mercerie à son domicile. Afia Gnonnougan mène cette activité afin de pourvoir aux besoins du ménage. Afia Gnonnougan s’approvisionne dans une région du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle, Afia Gnonnougan sollicite un quatrième crédit avec les autres membres du groupe DJRMAHUTON. Ce crédit leur servira à mieux répondre aux demandes de leur clientèle et à se faire plus de profits. Les crédits précédemment reçus ont été bien remboursés.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late.
