Aisha lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is single with three children, two of whom attend school. She is not looking after any other family members.
She has been selling charcoal from home at retail for the last five years, working seven days a week. She does not have any other source of income.
She has requested for a loan of 200,000 UGX from MCDT- SACCO to enable her buy more charcoal for sale. Her challenges include high costs. Her dream is to capture a bigger share of the market in her area and also to build her own house. She joined MCDT because the organization is involved in women's development. She rents a house with access to electricity and no piped water. Her major monthly expenses are rent and school fees.
