Mounir is a 43-year-old married man from Lebanon. He lives with his wife and three children.
In 1990, Mounir started his own business as a fisherman. It was a hobby that turned into a profession, which can return on him with higher revenue. In parallel, he works as a farmer; his job consists of cultivating vegetables. He takes good care of the land and always seeks to diversify the harvests to be able to satisfy his clients' needs.
Today, he is asking to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase new, bigger fishing nets. He states that the loan will help him increase his business productivity by a fair percentage, which will certainly enhance his way of living. In the future, he plans to open his own fishery.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
