Salman is a 39-year-old Lebanese man. He’s married to Dalal, a very kind woman. They have five children attending school. Salman is a great man who loves his family and really cares to offer them a respectable life. He works nonstop, on his own, to be able to cover their expenses. He has been working as a carpenter for more than ten years, and he decided to open his own carpentry business in 2010. He’s an honest man and above all punctual, which is what makes his customers loyal to him. Today, he’s asking for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase supplies and materials for his business, such as paint, wood, and many other items. This Kiva loan will facilitate his business operations and allow him to start his new project properly. He’s doing his best to collect higher revenues and teach his children at high level schools to help them live a very comfortable life.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
