Nisrine is a 36-year-old single Lebanese woman living with her parents and only one working sibling.
In 2004, Nisrine started running her own shop selling accessories and souvenirs. She has a wide variety of home accessories, perfumes, and many other items. Her income is really essential to help her father with the family’s household expenses. Her story exemplifies the day-to-day challenges that the Lebanese woman faces in running a business while at the same supporting her family. This is the reason of why she is asking today for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to expand her store’s inventory of perfumes, accessories, and souvenirs. Her intention is to augment her sales and amplify her income as well. She dreams of having her own family and children.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
