Flor Elisa
In the Municipality of Santa Rosa del Peñón, a charming city dedicated to its commercial activities and located in the department of León, the young woman Flor Elisa is known as a responsible person, dedicated to her work and above all honest.

She is married and has one child in her care; her main work is holding the position of a nurse in one of the Centers.

Flor supports her family and assures that her only child goes to school, even with so much need.

At this time, she only counts on her good health, her ability to work, and her small home that she has been constructing with loans that Kiva and Ceprodel have funded her for this work. Currently, she is requesting that Kiva and Ceprodel finance her a loan for the purchase of 90 meters of tile, and also that she be able to pay with monthly installments to a term of 13 months. With the little that she earns, she can’t adjust to completing a single loan; for this reason, she is requesting this type of loan.

Additional Information

This loan is administered by Centro de Promocion del Desarrollo Local (CEPRODEL), one of Kiva’s larger partners in Central America. Founded in 1991 and based in Managua, Nicaragua, CEPRODEL specializes in the development and funding of housing cooperatives for traditionally marginalized communities, the provision of microfinance services to small businesses, and the promotion of innovative renewable energy projects. In addition, unlike many microfinance institutions in the area that have chosen to avoid the rural areas of the country due to the increased financial risk, CEPRODEL provides financial services to numerous clients in the agriculture and livestock industry. Supporting a borrower through CEPRODEL means contributing to the promotion and sustainability of this important work in Nicaragua.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
