Allan, a 40-year-old, is a married entrepreneur of Tabid, Ozamis City. He has 4 children and is earning from his vulcanizing business. It has been running for almost 8 years now and he earns 7,000 PHP a month. To improve his business, he borrowed 8,000 PHP from GDMPC micro credit which he had just joined in 2011, to purchase materials needed to expand the services he provides. He hopes to expand his business before long.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
