Bintu B. is 34 years old and lives in West Point. She is married and her husband is a driver. They have three children between the ages of 14 and 26, who live at home and are currently in school.
For the past six years she has been selling fashion clothes in the local market. She started this business by selling on a table in front of her house with 1,000 LRD that she received from her fiancee. Her profits are used on food and school fees. She is happy with her business because the business helps her and her family. Most interestingly, she was able to buy a piece of land. She is requesting a loan to purchase fashion clothes (blouses, jeans and trousers) for her business. She plans to expand her business, help her children, and build a house in the future.
