Alejandra is from Poblacion, Bonifacio. She is 51 years old and married. To make a living, she manages a farm where she grows coconuts for sale. She has been engaged in her business for 18 years and earns PHP 1,000 a month for these activities. In 2011, Alejandra joined GDMPC. Alejandra is requesting a loan of PHP 1,500 which will be used to buy seedlings to plant. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
