Wilma is a 34-year-old resident of Poblacion, Bonifacio. She provides her three children's needs from the little amount of 4,000 PHP she gains monthly from her corn-farming business. She has raised corn for six years as an aid to the income gained by her husband.
However, in this year she became a member of GDMPC, and she applied for a loan of 10,000 PHP at GDMPC microfinance to buy farm chemical supplies. Wilma wants to expand her business one day.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
