Isidro, 48, is married with 3 children; he resides in Kaparalan, Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines. Isidro raises crops for a living, planting and harvesting coconuts and corn for sale in the local community. This has been his business for 5 years. Each month, he earns 10,000 PHP doing this type of business. He requested a loan of 15,000 PHP to purchase fertilizer and seedlings to plant. In 2010, Isidro joined GDMPC. In the future, Isidro wants to save to prepare for future emergencies and purchase another piece of farmland.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
