Anabelle's main source of income comes from planting and harvesting rice for sale. She is 34 years old, married and has 2 children. She is from Kapalaran, Tambulig and been 12 years in farming, earning an amount of 10,000 a month. In 2010, Anabelle joined GDMPC. Anabelle is requesting a loan of 15,000 which will be used to purchase fertilizers and seedlings for the next cropping. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
