Famata, 37, is a single parent who lives in West Point with her two children, aged 12 and 16. Both children are in school. Famata has a mini shop where she has been selling beverages (alcoholic drinks) like beer, stout and gin, for the past four years. She received the initial capital from her father to start this business and makes profits because her drinks always quench the thirst of her customers. She is proud of her business because she has repaid her loans and can support her children. She has requested a third loan from BRAC Liberia to purchase more beverages, such as beer, stout and gin, for the business. She plans to have a bigger shop in the future.
