Rebecca lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with four children, all of whom are in school. She cares for her mother as well. She has run a business selling half bricks for five years. She sells her products on a wholesale basis and she works seven days a week. She applied for a loan of UGX 800,000 to help her buy more half bricks. She generates additional income through a beauty salon. Rebecca faces challenges in seasonality and transportation. Her goals and aspirations are to expand her business by starting more branches and also to own a fully stocked hardware shop, as well as to build her own house. She works with MCDT because services are nearby and suitable for low-income women. Rebecca is renting the house she stays in, and her family has access to electricity and piped water. The greatest monthly expenses for her are school fees and rent.
