Accesorios Clemente Group
In this Group: Jesus , Josefina, Jessica
The "Accesorios Clemente" ["Clemente Accessories"] group has been through three loan cycles with the institution, and they comment that they are very happy and grateful, since thanks to the loans they have grown a lot. Jesús is the group's representative. He is 28 years old and has lived in a common-law marriage with Josefina for 10 years. Together they have formed a family with three children, two of whom go to school. Jesús and Josefina have a family business selling auto accessories. They sell colored bulbs, decals, car deodorizers, steering wheels, floor mats, etc. This time they are requesting the loan to buy more products that they need, such as cables for the installation of their alarms. Jesús comments: “Previously I didn't know how to carry out the installation of the alarms, but I am taking classes to learn and to make progress with my business, since the difficulty that arose is not knowing how to manage my business, because I only started it recently, and I started it because my papa worked in this field." Jesús only has three years of experience with his business. Jesús' goal is to make his business grow, but he would also like it if in the future he could set up a new business near his home, because the space where he currently has his accessories business is only lent to him, and he has to pay the rent monthly, which is an expense for his family that he is obligated to pay. Within the group, Jessica also participates; she is Jesús' sister and operates a store.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
