Salama, 40, is very enterprising and responsible. She lives with her husband and four children. Salama makes garments for men, women and children, including blouses, skirts and uniforms. Because she lives pretty far out of the way, she wants to do some publicity for her dressmaking workshop so that more people will get to know her and come to her with work orders. This is why she is requesting a loan from Yehu. In addition, she will buy fabric and a new sewing machine so that she will have what she needs to accept new clothing orders.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
